Facebook officially announced that it has reached 500 million active users dated July 22, 2010.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on the Facebook Blog: 500 Million Stories, “This is an important milestone for all of you who have helped spread Facebook around the world. Now a lot more people have the opportunity to stay connected with the people they care about.”

In line with Facebook’s mission to help people from the globe to stay connected, be more open and with the latest figure, no doubt it’s the better place on the web to spend time with friends and loved ones.

In celebration to half a million mark, Mr. Zuckerberg has also announced the launch of Facebook Stories, where you can share your own Facebook story and even read stories from around the globe by themes or locations.

Facebook’s revenue ranging about $910 million dollar is said to hit billion this year (2010).

Aside from we are marketed to with the Facebook advertising, The Social Network, known as the Facebook movie and which is partially based from the book The Accidental Billionaires will be in theaters this October.

  1. I agree with you! Facebook is the better place to find our long lost friends and be more open to our family and relatives. Thumbs up for Zuckerberg and all the people behind the social networking site! And for sure Facebook it will reach a billion mark maybe three years from now! Crossed fingers! :)
